The main difference between a condominium and a single-family dwelling is the type of ownership that you acquire. With the condominium, you only have sole rights to the interior space of your unit. The walls, land, ground, fence and  facilities are owned in common with the other owners of the complex. With the single-family dwelling, you are the sole owner of the structure and the land it's built on.
