I believe the correct answer is: Preoperational stage.

In the cognitive theory of Jean Piaget, the stage of development in which children start using language to convey their thoughts is the second stage of development or preoperational stage (from the age of two to seven). In this stage children can understand and convey the symbolic use of language and convey their thoughts, but still can’t grasp the logical thinking of adluts.
