The French and Indian war had a large impact on the American Revolutionary War, because of the debt incurred from the war by the British. After the war, the British government was heavily in debt, and seeing that the colonies payed comparatively little taxes to the citizens living back home, the British imposed more tax onto the American colonies. This outraged the Americans, and with the buildup of large amounts of taxes, the American colonists declared independence from Britain.
