The main reason why the government forced the Native Americans to relocate, was White people wanted their land. That's why the government forced Eastern Indians to leave their ancestral homelands in the eastern United States and to move west. However, with the settling of the West by white people and the formation of farms and the cultivation of grassland, the Indians were forced into reservations.
