If the zoo has 2 male lions, and those 2 male lions make up [tex] \frac{1}{6} [/tex] of the total lions, then you do:

[tex]\frac{1}{6} [/tex] × total = 2
total ÷ 6 = 2
total = 2 × 6
total = 12.

The total number of lions = 12.
