An object starts from rest and falls freely near earths surface for 3.00 seconds. Calculate the final speed of the object

Given:

u(intial velocity)=0

a(acceleration)=9.8 m/s^2(as it is a free falling object acceleration is due to gravity)

t= 3 seconds


In order to find the final velocity v

We know that

v= u+at

Where v is the final velocity measured in m/s

u is the initial velocity measured in m/s

a is the acceleration measured in m/s^2.

t is the time taken to fall down measured in seconds

Now substituting the given values in the above formula we get

v=u +at

v=0+(9.8 x 3)

v=29.4m/s

Thus the final velocity is 29.4 m/s.
