The main purpose of the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HUAC) was to investigate Communist and fascists people as well as organizations.
HUAC was a committee founded in 1938 during the Cold War (1945-1991) in the US. It was mainly created to get information from citizens about subversive or disloyal Communist activities on behalf of public employees, private citizens, and organizations.
