Given that a trapezoid has the following dimensions, find the area.


Area = ________ units2


Base 1 = 5 units


Base 2 = 3 units

The area of a trapezoid is  h(a + b) /2   where h=height and a and b are lengths of the parallel sides.

So here the area is 5 * (5 + 3) / 2

=  5 * 8 / 2

= 20 units^2
