40% of 60 is 24


To convert from percent to decimal, divide the percent without the percent symbol by  100.

so, 40% = 40/100 = 0.4

40% 60 is just 0.4*60 = 24

since you know 60 is the total value then it would be 60/100% then you times is by x/40% given that x is the value you’re trying to find. so by cross multiplying 60*40 then dividing by 100 is your answer
