The slope-intercept form:

[tex]y=mx+b[/tex]

m - slope

b - y-intercept

We have the slope m = -1 and the point (-1, 3). Substitute:

[tex]3=(-1)(-1)+b[/tex]

[tex]3=1+b[/tex]      subtract 1 from both sides

[tex]2=b\to b=2[/tex]

Answer: y = -x + 2
