Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

- (1/2)

Discussion:

Let the "additive inverse" be x. By definition of additive inverse, x,

x + (1/2) = 0.

Subtract (1/2) from both sides to get

x + (1/2) - (1/2)  = 0 - (1/2) =>

x + 0 = - (1/2) =>

x = - (1/2)

Thank you,

MrB
