What is the momentum of a 47-gram tennis ball that is traveling at 40 m/s

Momentum is defined as the product of mass and velocity

so here we have

mass = 47 gram = 0.047 kg

velocity = 40 m/s

now we have

[tex]P = mv[/tex]

[tex]P = (0.047)(40 kg m/s[/tex]

now we have

[tex]P = 1.88 kg m/s[/tex]

so here the momentum will be 1.88 kg m/s
