The sign of a mirror’s magnification refers to whether the image is inverted or upright; negative magnifications indicate an inverted image whereas positive magnifications indicate an upright one. The absolute value of magnification shows by what scale the size of the image is multiplied. Therefore, this mirror produces an inverted image which is 2.5x the size of the object.
