The citric acid cycle (CAC) basically accepts a two carbon molecule acetyl-coenzyme A (COA) and oxidizes it to release CO2 and H2O. After this is done the energy forms produced are nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), flavine adenine dinucleotide (FADH2) and guano sine triphosphate (GTP).
