slope-int form: y=mx+b
1. substitute the slope and x and y points in the equation. 3=-3/4(8)+b
2. simplify the equation. 3=-6+b
3. isolate the variable to solve for the y-intercept. b=9
4. substitute the slope and y-intercept to get the final equation. y=-3/4x+9
