That is elements of Matrix A and Matrix B are also equal.

To find the value of y:

In matrix A, the element in the first column second row is y + 4.

In matrix B, the element in the first column second row is 10.

Equating these two elements, we get

⇒ y + 4 = 10

Subtract 4 on both sides to equal the expression.

⇒ y = 10 – 4

⇒ y = 6

Hence the value of y is 6.
