If you placed the letter g under a microscope, the image in the field would look completely inverted. So, instead of seeing a regular letter g, it would be inverted both from up to down and from left to right, so when you look at the letter under a microscope, it would no longer look like the letter g, but rather like the number 6. This would happen because of the convex lens which tends to invert, or flip images.
