A bugle would be matter. .
You can clearly see it is a solid object instrument, made up of brass.
Brass is made up of copper and zinc.

This is not energy because energy is the ability to do work (in chemistry)
Kinetic, Potential, Light, Nuclear, or Sound.

If the question asked about the bugle's production of sound, energy or matter?
It would be energy as sound is a type of energy.
