The system of equations has no solutions.

We can show this by substituting the first equation into the second equation:

y = x - 2

-x + y = -5
-x + (x - 2) = -5
-x + x - 2 = -5
-2 = -5

Clearly this is not true so there are no solutions.

I hope this helps!
