This is because you have to take the monthly savings (8756) and multiply it by  12 to find how much he saves in 1 year.

8756 * 12 = 105,072

Once you have that you multiply the yearly savings by the amount of years he wants to save, in this case 13.

so, 105,072 * 13 = 1365936
