a.) Parallel lines has equal slopes, hence slope of required equation = slope of y = 2x - 4 = 2
required equation is y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y - 7 = 2(x - 4)
y - 7 = 2x - 8
y = 2x - 8 + 7
y = 2x - 1
