4.2 amps, factoring in resistance roughly 4.1

Explanation:

I'm assuming here that were talking standard voltage thats its most houses so 120 volts, atleast in the U.S.

So you need to find x=amps

Watts is calculated by volts x current (Amps)

You have the watts and the "Voltage"

Just do 500/120 and you get 4.166666667 and you can round that to 4.2amps if you just want it in the simple form.
