If EF = 4x + 15 and FG = 39 and EG = 110. Find the value of EF.

Answer:

EF + FG = EG   Plug in the given values

4x + 15 + 39 = 110   Combine like terms (15 and 39)

      4x + 54 = 110   Subtract 54 from both sides

               4x = 56   Divide both sides by 4

                 x = 14
