3x -3y = 6

or, 3(x -y)= 6

or, x-y =6/3

or, x-y = 2

or, x=2+y........eqn(i)

4x - 7y = 2

substituting the value of x from eqn(i)

or, 4(2+y) -7y = 2

or, 8 + 4y -7y = 2

or, -3y = 2-8

or, y = -6/-3

■ y=2

so in eqn(i)

x= 2+y

x= 2+2

■x = 4
