the majority of Northern part of Canada is uninhabitable so most stay near the southern part of Canada which is on the border of the USA

Explanation: canada's economy is so close to the usa that it makes  sense for people to live close to the USA

AND THE SOUTHERN PART OF CANADA HAS THE CLIMATE AND PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY SUITABLE FOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION.
