Your problem → (x^8+2x^4+1)+(2x^4+x^2+1)

(x^8+2x^4+1)+(2x^4+x^2+1)

=x^8 + 2x^4 + 1 + 2x^4 + x^2+1

=x^8+2x^4+2x^4+x^2+1+1

=x^8+4x^4+x^2+2
