The similarity between both alpha radiation and beta radiation is that in both cases, they both show deflection when they go through electric and magnetic fields. Although alpha deflects towards the negative plate while bets deflects towards the positive plate.

Secondly they both have high speeds. Just that alpha is from the helium nucleus while beta is from electrons.
