First, substitute -2 into each equation where there is an x:
(-2)2 -8
(-2) +6

Then multiply the -2 and the 2 in the first equation and add -2 and 6 in the second:
-4 -8
4

Lastly, subtract -4 and 8:
-12
4

Now you have you answers -12 and 4!
