Tom has 4 1/2 cases of soda. If there are 12 cans in a case, how many cans does tom have?

well 1/2 of 12 = 6
12 x 4 = 48
48 + 6 = 54
Tom has 54 cans of soda.

answer is 24


if he has 4 cases times 12 cans is 48. but the cases are halves so half of 48 is 24
