2.  so this will be -3 ( since the reciprocal of 1/3 is 3 and its negative is -3

3.  So use the values given for x and y (3,-4)

4.   substitute in the given equation using the -3 for the slope instead of 1/3

5.  To find a new b we substitute  for x and y

5.  y = 1/3x + 10

6.  -4 =  -3 (3) + b

7.   -4= -9+ b

8. b = 5

Equation of the line will be y = -3x + 5
