two friends work together. in a friendly conversation one calls the other a name.its deemed inappropriate and both are fired.one for saying it and the other for not reporting it. was it fair ? yes, no why?

I believe that it was unfair because the person who didn’t report it didn’t do anything wrong, they just didn’t report the problem. Yes, they should have reported the problem but that doesn’t make them in the wrong. The person who said the “inappropriate name” should get fired not the person who didn’t report it.
