In one week, the snail would have crawled a distance of 4.9 miles based on its' rate of [tex]\frac{7}{10}[/tex] mile in [tex]\frac{1}{7}[/tex] week.

Snail would crawl 4.9 miles in 7 days.

  • We are told that the snail crawled

7/10 mile in 1/7 week.

Now, 7 days make a week.

This means that, number of time in days for it to crawl 7/10 mile = 1/7 × 7 days = 1 day

  • Thus;

1 day = 7/10 mile

Then 1 week is; (7 days × 7/10)/1 = 49/10

>> 4.9 miles
