If 12 eggs cost $2.04, then figure out how much 1 egg costs. You do that by dividing the total (2.04) by the amount (12) = 0.17. Take that number and multiply by how many eggs (18) and you'll get the total. ($3.06)

12 eggs is $2.04 so half of 12 eggs is 6 so half of 12 eggs would be $1.02 so 18 eggs is $3.06
