 The ramifications of the assassination led to the Liberators' civil war and, ultimately, to the Principate period of the Roman Empire.

After Caesar's death there was political turmoil and civil unrest. Marc Antony, as the one remaining counsul, tried his best to calm things, but the best he could do was a political "band-aid". His compromises soon fell apart and civil war resulted. Hope this helped with your question :)
