So the general form of this perpendicular line becomes: 12x + 3y + C = 0, or simplified: 4x + y + C’ = 0.

Now fill in the desired point to find C’: 4*(-2)+5+C’=0 so C’= 3.

The general form of the line becomes 4x + y + 3 = 0
