According to the line problems described, after computation, DE is found to be equal to 12. Please see attached image.

What is the calculation justifying the above?

It is stated that AC ≅ DB

Hence, AC = DB

Recall that CB = 3DB; and

AD = AC + CD

Thus,

= DB + CD

= CB

= 3DB

= 15

Hence

DB = 5

Recall that DE = DB + BE

Hence

DE = 5 + 7

DE = 12
