A stereotype appears when somebody has an over-generalized belief about someone because of their membership in social groups.
Stereotypes are assuming the same truth about every individual of the group. It may be sometimes useful but it also can be wrong. This is a type of prejudices because it is over-generalizing by what someone is on the outside.
