The slope of a line and the perpendiular line that intercept will always have a product of -1

If the slope k=-1/6, the perperndicular line can be found by finding the product of the slope and -1

-1= (slope)(perpendicular line slope)
perpendicular line slope= slope(-1)
                             = -1/6(-1)
                             = 6
