Assuming this is an Isosceles Triangle, You would basically just find the X value that would make the 2 lines an equal length, otherwise one would be uneven therefore making it non-tangent.

But for this problem your 2 values are (2x-2), and (X+8).

For this problem the X value would be equal to 10.

This is because 2x(20)-2=18, and X(10)+8=18
