I'm assuming it looks like this:
[tex]f(x) = -x^2 - 4[/tex]
So we start by plugging -3 for x
[tex]f(-3) = -(-3)^2 - 4[/tex]
Which becomes:
[tex]f(-3) = 3^2 - 4[/tex]
Now simplify
[tex]f(-3) = 9 - 4[/tex]
[tex]f(-3) = 5[/tex]
