A mixed media piece is a piece of artwork that combines different media and techniques to create a one of a kind stimulating piece. Mixed because the teqniques and material (media) are not generally coherent with one another. This is one of the largest categories in art because anything around an artiste can be used. Paper, wood, paint, books, sheet music, metal, musical instruments, etc. This allows the creator to open up a near infinite number of possibilities to create a truly unique piece.
