Given: 4y =2x-10, and y=6 Substituting for y in the equation gives 4(6) = 2x-10 or 24 = 2x-10 Adding 10 to both sides of the equation 24+10 = 2x - 10+10 34 = 2x Dividing both sides by 2 34/2 = 2x/2 Answer 17 = x
