Why did most americans view the french revolution differently than they did the american revolution?

The French Revolution was about social issues, such as the wealthy having more power than the poor. The American Revolution was about government tensions. The French Revolution was meant to create more liberties for themselves, where the American Revolution was meant to preserve the liberties that they already should have had.
