The principle of rule of law means acknowledging the supremacy and authority of the law, and the equality of all individuals (including those in government) before the law. This means that there is no discrimination when it comes to facing the law. Therefore, congress impeaching the president for corruption is a demonstration of this principle. Being president does not exempt anybody from facing the law and its consequences.
