Use this formula:  [tex]d= \sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^2+(y_{2}-y_{1})^2 }[/tex]

a)  d=11

Work:
d=sqrt((4-(-7))^2+(5-5)^2
d=sqrt((11)^2+(0)^2)
d=sqrt(121+0)
d=sqrt(121)
d=11
