we have

[tex]-4(x+3) < -2-2x[/tex]

Solve for x

Applying distributive property left side

[tex]-4x-12 < -2-2x[/tex]

Group terms that contain the same variable, and move the constant to the opposite side of the equation

[tex]-4x+2x < -2+12[/tex]

[tex]-2x < 10[/tex]

Divide by [tex]2[/tex] both sides

[tex]-2x/2 < 10/2[/tex]

[tex]-x < 5[/tex] --------> [tex]x > -5[/tex]

the solution is the interval-------> (-5,∞)

therefore
