When you multiply 2/5 x 1/7, the answer is 2/35. This fraction is LESS than 1/7.

We can see that with a common denominator, 1/7 becomes, 5/35. So, 2/35 is less than 1/7.

The product must be less than 1/7, because in the process of
multiplying, you didn't take the whole 1/7, you only took 2/5 of it.
