For example, -7 is an integer, so it is also a rational and a real number. The square root of 2 is an irrational number, so it is also a real number.

An integer, also called a "round number" or “whole number,” is any positive or negative number that does not include decimal parts or fractions.

Therefore -3 is an integer, but 2.76 or 3 1/2 aren’t.
