Let the cost of the DVD player be x.
DVD Player = x

The television is two times the cost of the DVD player.
Television = 2x

Total cost of the television and DVD player is $1197.
x + 2x = 1197
3x = 1197
x = 1197 ÷ 3
x = $399

Find the cost of the DVD player and the television.
x = $399
2x = $399 x 2 = $798

---------------
ANSWER
