Quantity of Hgb in 100 ml of blood = 14.5 grams

Now we will use unitary method to find quantity of Hgb in 1 ml of blood.

Quantity of Hgb in 1 ml of blood = 14.5 /100 = 0.145 grams.

Now we have to find quantity of Hgb in 5.5 quarts of blood.

Let us first convert 5.5 quarts into ml.

1 quart = 946 ml

So 5.5 quarts = 5203 ml

So quantity of Hgb in 5203 ml of blood = 0.145 * 5203 = 754.435 grams

Answer: The patient has 754.435 grams of Hgb in his body.
